My husband calls me this because of my obsession with baskets. He thinks he’s hilarious.
Once, he went around the house and snapped photos of every single basket he could find and sent them to me while I was shopping at Home Goods … for baskets. I don’t recall the final count, but I’ll admit it was a bit of a shocking display. HOWEVER, I stand firm in my belief that baskets are a secret ingredient in every well-designed – and well-equipped – home. They’re the embodiment of form equaling function. And, dear husband, I’ll have you know that humans have been using baskets for as far back as historians can trace, so my obsession with this functional art form is not only justified, it pays homage to our collective ancestors. So please get on board. Thank you.
Friends, I know you’re already on board with me. I don’t have to convince you that baskets add dimension, warmth and organic texture to any space. Not to mention their primary function – storage. And not plain vanilla utilitarian storage. Stylish storage. Aaahh, that phrase makes my heart sing.
