Ever wish you could have someone just tell you what on earth you should do with a specific room in your house? Do you have a space (or two or three) that you’ve been ignoring because you get overwhelmed just thinking about how to approach making it better? You are not alone! This is such a common dilemma for so many people. When you look at and live in a space for so long, it can be difficult to envision it any other way.

This is what I hear most often from my clients... “I know what I like, I know how I want to feel in my space, but I become paralyzed when I start thinking about how to tackle designing it all. There are so many choices out there – it’s simply overwhelming. I have no idea where to start, so I end up doing nothing at all.”

If this resonates with you, my Conceptual Design Plan service might be a great option to consider.

I’ve received several inquiries from subscribers about this service and have found it to be my most-requested service from clients. Since this offering is becoming so popular, I wanted to peel back the curtain and share with you what this service entails, outline what the process is like and share exactly how it works.

Many clients need help conceptualizing their spaces, but like the idea of purchasing the items on their own and in their own time. The Conceptual Design offering is a wonderful way to dip your toe into the world of interior design services before committing to the more comprehensive and bespoke full-service design.

"The Conceptual Design process was energizing, inspirational and EASY. I also found the whole process very empowering. I love that Janna talked me through why she suggested what she suggested. Understanding the ‘why’ behind everything helped me feel empowered to make really educated choices." - Nicole & Mike

Here's how it works.

Phase One: Interior Design Consultation

After booking a Discovery Call and answering our Client Questionnaire, the next step is to schedule a 1.5-hour initial Design Consultation. At this meeting, I meet you in your home, walk and talk about your spaces with you, learn about your design dreams and goals and take some time to share details with you about our design process. So much good happens during this visit and this consultation is vital to a successful design project!

Phase Two: Onboarding

After our consultation, I will create a Scope of Work and share with you a Letter of Agreement to sign. You will submit to me your space measurements and we will schedule the two presentation meetings: the Initial Conceptual Design meeting and the Final Conceptual Design meeting. I’ll then begin to conceptualize a space that will bring to life all that we discussed and dreamed up at the consultation meeting.

Phase Three: Initial Conceptual Design

At this 90-minute meeting, I will share vision boards and the initial conceptual design for your space(s). This includes space plans (layouts), color schemes, finishes, textures, and the overall design aesthetic. I always provide two concepts for each room for you to choose from. You will then have time (up to two weeks) to sit with the concepts, discuss with family members and decide which concept you love the most. We then schedule a quick phone call to discuss your decision (and any necessary edits) and move into the final design concepting phase.

Phase Four: Final Conceptual Design

At this 60-minute final concept presentation, paint color palette will be confirmed, renderings and space layouts will be finalized, and furniture and styling will be confirmed.

Phase Five: Final Design Package Delivered

All of the beautiful items we’ve chosen will then be compiled into a shopping list with direct links to each product. You’ll receive a PDF of the final design presentation, including 2D and 3D furniture layouts, as well as a detailed install guide. You’ll also receive email support for two weeks following the delivery of the final package.

From start to finish, the whole process takes roughly six to eight weeks, and you’ll be fully equipped with every detail you need to completely transform your space! And we'll have a TON of fun along the way!

**NOTE: Kitchens and bathrooms may be included in Conceptual Design, but will include furnishing selections only, including cabinetry hardware, plumbing fixtures, rugs, counter stools, décor and lighting fixtures. Full kitchen and bath remodels fall within the Full-Service Design offering. Bundle pricing for Conceptual Design is available with three or more spaces.
